چکیده

Abstract Background Strabismus is the leading risk factor for amblyopia, which should be early detected minimized visual impairment. However, traditional school screening strabismus can challenged due to several factors, most notably training, mobility and cost. The purpose of our study evaluate feasibility using a smartphone application in vision detection strabismus. Methods beta application, EyeTurn, measure ocular misalignment by computerized Hirschberg test. was used nurse routine 133 elementary children. All app measurements were reviewed an ophthalmologist assess rate successful measurement flagged in-person verification with prism alternating cover test (PACT) 2.4? threshold (root mean squared error app). A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve determine best sensitivity specificity 8? (recommended AAPOS) PACT as ground truth. Results obtained at least one 93% children (125/133). 40 PACT, 6 confirmed have strabismus, including 4 exotropia (10?, 10?, 14? 18?), 1 constant esotropia (25?) accommodative (14?). Based on ROC curve, optimum detect determined 3.0?, (83.0%), (76.5%). With this would missed child esotriopia, whereas conventional 3 cases intermittent extropia. Conclusions support use personnel without professional training screenings improve

Active 3D Smartphone App

A novel method of creating a side-by-side 3D stereogram from the foreground of a 2D image was implemented. To achieve this, the pipeline implemented two step interactive GrabCut image segmentation, followed by recreating the object in 3D with a depth map, and finally rendering two images side by side with slightly different perspectives in front of an inpainted background to create a stereo pair.

Ocular dominance columns in strabismus.

During development, the projection from the lateral geniculate nucleus to striate cortex becomes segregated into monocular regions called ocular dominance columns. Prior studies in cats have suggested that experimental strabismus or alternating monocular occlusion increases the width and segregation of columns. In the squirrel monkey, strabismus has been reported to induce the formation of ocul...
